ABOUT US
The Junior Cougars Wrestling Club, located
in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, was formed in 1982. The
club currently consists of approximately 50 wrestlers
ranging in age from 5 to 14 years. The club is committed
to training and mentoring the wrestlers to reach their
individual excellence in the sport of wrestling, as well
as developing a wrestler's confidence, leadership, self-discipline,
and a strong work ethic for success in life. This program
acts as a feeder program for the Conant High School Team.
WHEN IS THE SEASON?
The season runs from mid-November through
March. Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Conant High School.
Registration is held the second week of November
at Conant High School.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED?
The club will loan each wrestler a singlet

each wrestler with a t-shirt, sweatshirt and shorts. Wrestlers
are required to purchase there own wrestling shoes and
protective head gear which you can purchase at Dick Pond's.
WHAT IS THE COMPETITION LIKE?
During practice, new wrestlers will be
separated from experienced wrestlers. Depending
on the number of wrestlers participating, they will also
be paired with someone around their own age and weight
to the extent possible. Tournaments are held by various
wrestling clubs throughout the state nearly every weekend
during the season. There are many held near by.
There is usually a nominal fee to participate in these
tournaments which the club covers. During the tournaments,
wrestlers compete against other children their own, age,
weight and experience level. The divisions are as
follows:
